You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Prepares surfaces by scraping, wire brushing, masking, spackling and sanding surfaces. Cleans, degreases and removes oil or wax build up.
Removes scale, rust, dirt and old paint from surfaces so that coating materials will adhere properly.
Obtains supplies and equipment, sets up ladders and scaffolds, cover items with drop cloths and tape, and performs all necessary preparatory work.
Mixes, thins, blends, matches, tints, and tones coating materials following specific oral and written directives.
Applies coating materials such as primers, paints, varnishes, shellacs, using standard application techniques and ensures that coating finish meets surface protection requirements.
Uses tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, graining devices, compressors, as well as common hand and power tools to do the work. Maintains records and documents actions.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.
