Job Description

Summary

This job is for a painting helper in the U.S.

Marine Corps, where you'll support painting tasks on buildings, equipment, and other surfaces inside and outside, including prepping areas and using tools while working at heights.

It's ideal for someone with hands-on experience in basic painting or construction who can work independently with minimal oversight and is comfortable with physical labor in a military setting.

No formal education is needed, but showing practical skills through past work or volunteering is key.

  • Ability to perform painting tasks without more than normal supervision (screen-out element)
  • Experience assisting in preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting
  • Skill in applying paint using brushes, rollers, and other methods on buildings, furniture, machinery, and signs

  • Proficiency with common hand tools (e.g., hammers, wrenches, scrapers) and portable power tools (e.g., drills, chipping hammers)

  • You will assist in routine-type painting of buildings (interior and exterior) on structures of all types, on equipment, streets, and curbs.
  • You will work on scaffolds or ladders at various heights.
  • You will assist in preparing surfaces to be painted.
  • You will use common hand tools (hammers, wrenches, scrapers, etc.) and portable electrical tools (drills, chipping, hammers, etc.).
  • You will clean tools, machinery, and working surfaces and areas.
