This vacancy is for a GS-0326-7, Office Automation Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, USCG AIR STATION ELIZABETH CITY in ELIZABETH CITY, North Carolina.
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
Knowledge of the Coast Guard ACMS software and application is highly desirable Knowledge of processing procedures and functions for several varieties of software and/or advanced software functions to produce a wide range of documents to enhance productivity or meet the needs of complex formats.
Knowledge of the the rules and procedures for maintaining and processing reports; the software functions to produce a wide range of documents in complex formats using graphics or tables within text; editing to reformat and revise existing databases or spreadsheets; office automation systems, software and functions; grammar, spelling, punctuation; Coast Guard forms, formats, terminology; subject-matter content of the materials being processed.
The skills of a fully qualified typist are required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
You will serve as an Office Automation Assistant and be responsible for a variety of office automation and clerical work using any combination of word processing, database management, spreadsheet and electronic mail software.
Incumbent will perform all data entry, processing, and retrieval in the Asset Computerized Maintenance System (ACMS) databases, compile and present aviation maintenance data, and be familiar with other Coast Guard Aviation computer programs as applicable.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include: Perform data entry and review of all Electronic Aircraft Logbook, Asset Computerized Maintenance System, Avionics Tracking System, AMMIS, Aviation Logistics Maintenance Information System and Technical Information Management Operating System records.
Maintains Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPC's) for procedural and technical correctness. Provides tracking of current trends, delivers Aeronautical Change Requests based on historical data.
Monitors aircraft Maintenance Due Lists for impending maintenance requirements, confers with maintenance planners.
Maintains aircraft logbooks, files, tech library and other aircraft records in accordance with appropriate Coast Guard instructions.
Sorts and distributes aviation systems documentation such as ACMS cards, publication updates, etc.
Using ACMS database tracking system, sorts and delivers scheduled maintenance tasks, updates unit's web-based tracking system and provides result to the Maintenance Officers.
