Full Job Description

This is an at-will, partisan position that serves as the primary in-district liaison for assigned State Representatives and plays a key role in supporting Republican Caucus membership at the local level.

This individual is expected to spend the majority of their time working within their assigned district(s), building strong relationships with community stakeholders, local leaders, and constituents.

Applicants will be expected to work primarily in-district and travel to Lansing at least one day per week, or as needed, to coordinate with assigned member offices and caucus staff.

The individual must demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate complex and sensitive situations in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

The role requires close collaboration with Members, staff, local officials, community organizations, interest groups, and other branches of government.

Due to the nature of the position, a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is required.

Requirements

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Serves as the primary in-district liaison for a slate of State Representatives
  • Maintains a strong, visible presence throughout assigned district(s)
  • Attends and represents assigned offices at local meetings, events, and community functions
  • Speaks to community groups and stakeholders, providing legislative updates aligned with assigned offices
  • Organizes and facilitates district-based meetings, roundtables, and stakeholder discussions
  • Maintains consistent communication between district stakeholders and assigned Lansing offices
  • Collaborates with Communications Advisors to coordinate local media engagement when appropriate
  • Advances the caucus’ legislative goals through proactive district engagement
  • Researches, prioritizes, and responds to incoming district issues, determining appropriate action and follow-up
  • Works with assigned member offices to plan and execute district outreach strategies aligned with individual members’ and caucus priorities
  • Recommends district-specific strategies and tactics for constituent outreach and messaging, supported by relevant data
  • Monitors legislative activity in the House and Senate and communicates relevant updates to district stakeholders
  • Maintains accurate district data and stakeholder tracking for assigned members
  • Collaborates with other advisors and central staff departments to support caucus service needs
  • Travels to Lansing at least one day per week, or as needed, for coordination, planning, and caucus activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
