The Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Southwest Region is looking for Team Members who are 16–18-year-old high school students and recent high school graduates as part of our Summer Youth Group (SYG).
The SYG is centered around enhancing communication skills, participating in diverse teams, developing good work habits, and learning about employment opportunities at MDOT.
As a Team Member in the SYG, you will have the opportunity to perform work activities that may include, but are not limited to, enhancing landscaping; weeding and removing vegetation around guardrails and road signs; painting Park-N-Ride lot posts; cleaning rest areas/welcome centers; repairing and maintaining rest areas features (picnic tables, posts, etc.); enhancing roadside parks and scenic turnouts; removing litter; and assisting with erosion-control measures and cleaning out outlets.
