This job involves reviewing medical records and conducting investigations to ensure Medicaid services are provided correctly, billed properly, and meet quality standards for patients in Pennsylvania.
You'll handle case reviews, on-site visits, and prepare for legal proceedings to protect public health funds.
It's ideal for a registered nurse with experience in hospice or healthcare who enjoys detailed analysis and investigative work.

As a Medical Records Examiner, you will function as a case coordinator and conduct retrospective reviews generated by both internal and external stakeholders of Medical Assistance (MA) services.
Your investigations will be generated by the Fraud and Abuse Detection System, tips, complaints, and referrals.
You will monitor proper levels of care, correct coding, medical necessity of services, quality of care, and appropriate billing to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
This role requires the ability to perform detailed data review and the use of appropriate judgment and discretion when identifying discrepancies and recommending administrative sanctions.
In addition, you will conduct both record reviews and on-site visits, participate in evidentiary meetings, prepare for litigation proceedings, and respond to information requests under the Pennsylvania Right-to Know Law.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
