Base salary range: $74,441 - $96,770
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-11. Advanced degree + significant experience.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of about 30 scientists and engineers in designing and testing acoustic and vibration systems for submarines, ensuring projects stay on budget and meet naval goals.
You'll manage everything from system development to reporting progress to sponsors. It's a great fit for experienced engineers who enjoy team leadership and working on advanced naval technology.
You will serve as a MANAGER in the SIGNATURES DEPARTMENT (C/70) ,ACOUSTIC SIGNAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS DIVISION (C/73), ONBOARD SYSTEMS BRANCH (C/732) of NSWC CARD DIV D.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 through GS-13 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer leading teams to support the design and development of submarine (or similar shipboard systems) Acoustic Range Onboard Tracking, Acoustic Vibration systems, or Onboard Acoustic Measurement systems while managing risks, budgets, resources, and project performance to ensure successful branch execution and sponsor alignment.
