Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting a naval unit by managing safety programs for explosives, overseeing training requirements, and tracking facility maintenance to ensure smooth operations.

It focuses on administrative tasks like data analysis and decision-making support in a military setting.

A good fit would be someone with experience in safety protocols, program administration, and basic office skills, ideally from a government or defense background.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 level in federal or equivalent service
  • Knowledge of explosive safety qualifications and principles, including operations risk management and mishap reporting
  • Experience in safety training and occupational safety for training and facility management
  • Familiarity with naval correspondence procedures, directives issuance, and office automation tools for report production
  • Ability to administer explosives safety qualification and certification programs (ESQC)
  • Skills in managing training requirements and facility databases
  • Proficiency in analyzing data for tracking facility maintenance and providing status reports

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of Explosive Safety Qualification.

Experience applying knowledge of ordnance and explosives safety principles including operations risk management, mishap reporting, safety training and occupational safety matters applicable to training and facility management.

Experience applying knowledge of naval correspondence procedures and practices, directives issuance systems, office automation software and hardware sufficient to produce a wide range of reports.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide information for making decisions on the administrative and program management aspects of the mission with emphasis on explosives safety requirements, facilities management, and workforce training.
  • You will administer the Unit Explosives Safety Qualification and Certification Program. (ESQC)
  • You will administer the Units Training Requirements.
  • You will maintain and manage the detachment facility database.
  • You will analyze data and provide tracking and status of facility maintenance.
