Job Description

Summary

This role involves advising on financial policies, managing budgets and funds for defense programs, and overseeing the government's travel charge card system within the Department of Defense.

Key Requirements

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience managing a Government Travel Charge Card program. Providing comprehensive support to senior leadership.

Skilled at researching, developing, and implementing policy, offering critical input for decision-making.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as expert planner, coordinator, and advisor for agency policy regarding contingency/mobilization planning/readiness and/or natural disaster activities, within DoW constraints.
  • Directs/conducts cost comparison/benefit studies of current or projected programs; develops life cycle cost analyses of projects.
  • Receives and maintains cognizance of approved funds.
  • Provides support and advice on reprogramming of funds and funding levels due to changes in workload and or mission.
  • Serves as Agency Component Manager (CPM) for the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) program.
