Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Admissibility & Passenger Programs, Operational Support Unit, located in Washington, DC.

Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing a detailed work plan to manage multiple program analysis tasks, ensuring all deliverables were completed on time and aligned with organizational goals.

Authoring comprehensive program reports, summarizing data analysis, findings, and recommendations for leadership review and decision-making.

Providing guidance to program staff on the application of laws and policies affecting resource allocation, ensuring compliance and proper use of support resources.

Conducting studies, reviews, evaluations, and assessments of program issues and proposals Conducting research on relevant laws and precedents to support the development of new program initiatives, preparing summaries and recommendations for leadership.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

In this position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by developing policies, conducting special studies, and providing technical assistance.

This position starts at a salary of $102,415.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $133,142.00 (GS-12, Step 10).

Typical duties include: Developing, selecting, adapting, and employing advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques, methods, procedures and systems to analyze, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management.

Conducting in-depth studies, reviews, evaluations, and assessments of program issues and proposals assigned.

Determining the functionality of unique administration and program structures; interpreting findings resulting from studies that are independently developed and, providing necessary and appropriate coordination among key participants for the long-range planning and development of strategies to meet objectives and mission.

Recommending strategies to improve program implementation and evaluations; advising management of unique conditions and issues that affect administrative functions and providing guidance on interpretation and implementation of new and revised legislation, policies, regulations and procedures.

Reviewing and evaluating established program policies and procedures to determine gaps where additional guidance is needed.
