Job Description

Summary

This job involves analyzing and improving the contracting, procurement, and property management operations at the Smithsonian Institution by reviewing processes, collecting data, and spotting ways to make things more efficient and compliant.

A good fit would be someone with experience in data analysis and support roles in finance or procurement who enjoys using numbers and tools to solve real-world organizational problems.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-9 level, including compiling and evaluating operational, administrative, or financial data

Full Job Description

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo.

This position is located in the Office of Contracting and Personal Property Management (OCon&PPM).

OCon&PPM is responsible for the overall planning, management and execution of SI's contracting, acquisition and procurement, privacy, personal property and travel programs.

Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service.

For this position, specialized experience is defined as compiling and evaluating operational, administrative, or financial data; and providing analytical or operational support related to procurement, financial management, or enterprise systems, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Major Duties:

The Management Analyst is responsible for reviewing OCon&PPM functions and operations to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for program enhancement and maintained compliance.

In this position, you will: Use a range of analytical tools and evaluation techniques – both qualitative and quantitative – to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to enhance the OCon&PPM compliance review process.

Collect, analyze, compile and evaluate information and statistics for monthly and quarterly metrics reporting, related to specific OCon&PPM functions and operations.

Write and contribute to review reports (such as audits, evaluations, strategic plan objectives and program reviews) by clearly describing review findings and connecting those findings to current and planned mission functions of OCon&PPM.
