Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting management by collecting and organizing data on manpower, resources, and budgets, creating reports and charts to help track projects and make decisions at a U.S.

Marine Corps air station in Japan. You'll work with databases and documents to ensure everything is accurate and up-to-date.

It's a good fit for someone detail-oriented with office experience who enjoys administrative tasks and can handle working overseas where medical care is limited.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at GS-05 level (for GS-06) or GS-04 level (for GS-05) in generating reports, records, charts, and forms for data collection on manpower, resources, and basic financial administration
  • Ability to coordinate workload data tracking, establish project databases, and monitor milestones and funding
  • Skills in preparing and analyzing manpower reports from manning documents for management needs
  • Proficiency in reviewing documents for accuracy and initiating corrections for discrepancies
  • Knowledge of automated systems to retrieve and format data for planning and decision-making
  • Assistance in maintaining the Table of Organization with coordination from program managers
  • Willingness to work at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, with limited access to medical and dental care

Full Job Description

You will serve as a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT in the Management Analyst Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector generating reports, records, charts and forms to manage the collection of data and workload requirements including manpower, resources, and basic financial administration requirements.

GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in generating reports, records, charts and forms to manage the collection of data and workload requirements including manpower, resources, and basic financial administration requirements.

  • You will coordinate efforts to obtain workload data to track progress in meeting objectives and use of resources. For each project, establishes and maintains data base records of forecasted project milestones and available funding.
  • You will prepare recurring and nonrecurring manpower reports, extracting and analyzing data from manning documents and compiling into a format fulfills the needs of management and higher headquarters.
  • You will review manning documents to ensure accuracy of data recorded and initiate corrective action for discrepancies.
  • You will apply knowledge of various automated systems to retrieve data into a format provides management with information critical to the planning and decision making process
  • You will assist with maintenance of the Table of Organization for Marine Corps Base Air Station Iwakuni with coordinated effort with the Program Manager (Lead Management Analyst).
