About the Position: This position is in the Program, Analysis and Evaluation Branch within Womack Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Logistics, Fort Bragg, NC.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in analyzing and recommending solutions for a variety of issues in areas such as health care delivery programs, organizational structure, staffing, manpower, salaries, budget requirements, or work processes; utilizing Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG), Current Procedure Terminology (CPT), and International Classification Diseases-9/10 (ICD-9/10) codes; utilizing computer software programs to produce graphs, spreadsheets, reports, and databases.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Analyze data on workload/Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)/Relative Value Unit (RVU)/encounter complexity to identify specific areas of command interest and action.
  • Maintain management information reporting system to include database development, spreadsheet design, and data mining systems.
  • Provide management and program analysis services and recommendations on utilization involving staffing requests, reorganizations, demonstration programs, allocation readjustments, and other related functions.
  • Conduct healthcare related studies based on workload, utilization, costs, work methods and procedures, organizational and functional alignment and program goals, current health-care program business initiatives, and pilot project assignments.
  • Perform general and/or focused prospective, concurrent and retrospective reviews, including gathering and summarizing data and providing analysis of data/information to organizational leaders.
  • Employ analysis methods to develop information for reports addressing such elements as cost and trend analysis, efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and tangible benefits.
