This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Planning, directing, integrating, and executing all aspects of the assigned program as related to science, technology, and capability development.
Provides direction and advice on policies, procedures, and guidelines to Senior Managers/Directors.
Represents an agency at high level conferences and review meetings with DoD and non-DOD government agencies, and applicable industry/academic forums.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Identify and validate JDDE-related transformation technology requirements Manage, direct, staff, coordinate, and evaluate all USTRANSCOM Science & Technology (S&T) activities.
Serves as advisor and consultant through the Director, Strategic Plans, Policy, Logistics and Warfighting Development (TCJ4/J5/J7), to the Command Group and top management on the state of the art of emerging technologies, the development and refinement of new/unique applications for existing technologies to enhance the command's ability to meet mission needs, and the assessment of long-range needs.
Serves as senior expert on S&T program policies, systems, procedures, and activities.
Leverages experimentation, operational/military utility assessments and wargames to determine need and validate technology solutions.
Serves as the Command's Science Advisor, through the Director to the Command Group and command Directorates for S&T programs and the application of advanced technologies, concepts, and capabilities to meet USTRANSCOM's current and emerging missions.
