Job Description

Summary

This job involves analyzing and improving housing programs at the federal level, such as reviewing policies, coordinating reports, and recommending changes to make operations more efficient.

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Experience reviewing information related to collections, directives, clearances, and supporting documentation to recommend changes or corrective actions; AND -Serve as a liaison between program offices and the department in coordinating and reviewing directives and reports for review; AND -Applying laws, policies, and regulations relating to program operations; AND -Contributing to new or modified program policies, regulations, goals or objectives and identifying data required for use in the management and direction of programs.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will: Review, advise, and manage Housing policy and activities including policies, rules and directives, reports, and clearances.

Develop management plans, procedures, and methodology that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of both Housing programs and the management of those programs.

Develop procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems. Represent the office, as needed, in meetings, conferences and workshops.
