Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-9) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-9) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience developing and implementing cost effective logistics solutions for management, OR Applying established logistics procedures to support functions such as supply, accountability, and auditability.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-09 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks on a permanent competitive appointment may be considered.

You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist responsible for research, exploration, analysis, and coordination in order to perform studies, assessments, and evaluations of technologies, and policies relating to logistics.
  • Conducts logistics performance reviews to ensure compliance with regulations, primarily as they relate to the supply and policy compliance domains.
  • Conducts research, performs analysis, and collects data through field visits, written requests, and extraction of information in order to gather processes relating to all aspects of logistics management functions (i.e., supply, accountability etc.).
  • Recommends, updates, and revises logistics regulations and related logistics management policies for leadership.
  • Participates as a member of evaluation teams to determine the status of logistics or readiness systems, to include Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) and associated material fielding processes.
