This is a telework/hybrid position. The candidate of choice may work from anywhere within the state of Washington with a reliable internet connection. Travel will be required.

The Washington State Department of Corrections is searching for a dynamic, mission-driven professional to join our Research and Data Analytics (RDA) team as a Management Analyst 5 (MA5)-Research!
As a Management Analyst 5, you will help shape the research, program evaluations, and analytics that guide leaders across the Department, the Governor’s Office, OFM, the legislature, academic partners, and statewide policymakers who are committed to enhancing public safety.
In this dynamic role, you will lead the charge on highly complex, high-visibility research projects that drive real change!
As the project manager for the Carceral Care Advancement for Research and Evidence (CARE) Project and the Optimizing Opioid Use Disorder Treatment in Prisons (JCOIN) Project, you will collaborate with principal investigators and the University of Washington to push innovative ideas forward.
You’ll provide expert insight into DOC business processes, connect project teams with essential data and agency resources, and support the development and oversight of the Patient Care Advisory Board (PCAB), comprised of currently incarcerated individuals located at WADOC prison facilities, who will take part in reviewing research proposals for alignment to agency priorities and values.

Master's degree in public administration, public health, sociology, criminal justice, social work, social sciences, or a relevant field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or a foreign equivalent.

Bachelor's degree in public administration, public health, sociology, criminal justice, social work, social sciences, or a relevant field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S.

*One (1) year of experience as a Management Analyst 4 may be substituted for one (1) year of either education or SAS (or equivalent statistical software) experience.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework.
Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time.
Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite.
Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process.
Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
