About the position: This position will be a MAINTENANCE WORKER assigned to RESOURCE MANAGEMENT at Minot AFB, ND. This is a REGULAR PART-TIME (RPT) position. 20-34 hours are guaranteed each week. Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool. Who May Apply: Open to everyone. An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 02/06/2026 Business Based Action, Outside Applicant Veteran, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be knowledgeable in a variety of accepted trade practices in related maintenance and construction areas, including carpentry, painting, electric, and plumbing. Must be able to operate and clean hand and power operated tools and equipment. Must be able to work independently and inspect buildings, facilities, and grounds to determine need for repair work. Must be able to actively walk, stand, push, bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs. Must possess a valid state motor vehicle license. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties: - Applies a basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, electric, and plumbing in performing minor maintenance and self-help construction of building and structures. Plans and lays out work from drawings and oral or written instructions. Selects materials and tools to be used, measures and cuts materials to required length using hand or portable power tools. Uses standard measuring instruments such as rulers, tape measures, carpenter's squares and levels. Periodically inspects buildings, facilities, and grounds to determine need for repair work. Reports findings to supervisor. Replaces switches, outlets, light fixtures, or bulbs. Performs other minor electrical work as required. Brushes, rolls, and sprays paint or paint related materials according to directions to ensure that surfaces are full coated and free from drips and runs. Ensures surfaces are prepared and ready to be painted and primed. Properly cleans, stores, and safe guards paints and related materials. Replaces worn faucets and fixtures, clears clogged drains. Performs other basic plumbing tasks as required. Maintains, assembles and makes minor repairs to furniture and equipment. Orders and picks up parts as required or directed. Maintains work orders received, assigns work priority, and documents actions taken in a log book. Performs other related duties as required.
