Job Description
Summary
This job is for a maintenance mechanic who handles upkeep and repairs at two reentry centers in Spokane, Washington, working full-time from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
It involves performing hands-on maintenance tasks to keep the facilities running smoothly.
A good fit would be an experienced mechanic who is reliable, detail-oriented, and already employed permanently by the Washington Department of Corrections in a similar role.

Spokane, Washington
The Department of Corrections (DOC) has a permanent, full time Maintenance Mechanic 2 opening available within the Reentry Division. NG20 performs work at both Eleanor Chase House and Brownstone Reentry Center in Spokane, WA. Hours of work are 0700 - 1530, Monday - Friday. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.
In accordance with Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2023-25 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. Employees who meet the following criteria may apply: - You are requesting a transfer under Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
- You are a permanent DOC employee.
- You currently hold permanent status in the class being recruited for in this job posting.
- You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
