This internship involves helping promote the Iowa Lottery by staffing booths at events across the state, selling tickets, answering customer questions, and handling promotional activities during the summer months.
Interns will also assist with office tasks like event planning and marketing projects under the guidance of the marketing director.

Job Description
The Iowa Lottery is seeking three (3) marketing interns.
The interns will work both individually on tasks in the office, and as a team to represent Iowa Lottery at various promotional events held around the state to coincide with summer promotions.
This internship is a paid position based upon experience and will run from mid-May to late-August 2026.
The interns selected will each work approximately 30-40 hours per week during the 14 week internship (with a guarantee of at least 350 hours over the course of the summer).
This position will require work on weekdays, evenings and weekends as to accommodate scheduled events.
Willingness to travel with a lottery vehicle, within the state of Iowa is required, including a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
Scope of Work:
A day's work will include travel to and from events, setup & teardown of the lottery tent/booth, and staffing of the tent/booth during individual events.
Duties include selling tickets to the public, answering questions about lottery products and programs, and conducting promotional giveaways of lottery prizes.
This will also include required preparation and documentation for event planning, procuring lottery tickets, tracking sales and maintaining inventory used for promotions.
The locations where the Lottery may have a tent/booth will include Iowa Lottery retailer locations and select community events across the entire state of Iowa such as sporting events, fairs, concerts, festivals etc.
Lottery interns will report to the Director of Marketing & Advertising and have an opportunity to shadow and assist with various other marketing, promotion and sales tasks including creative design, advertising, project management, event planning, agency collaboration and more as applicable/desired.
Strong communication skills and great attention to detail are required, and previous event experience or loyalty program work is preferred.
