Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting the maintenance of Navy ships by gathering and analyzing data on their equipment and supplies to ensure everything needed for repairs is available and well-planned.

You'll work with teams to solve logistics issues and create reports on ship conditions.

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12900875-26-KMH.

For GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management functions by researching, analyzing, and compiling logistics data of shipboard conditions to identify Integrated Logistics Support requirements in order to make recommendations improving supply support for ship maintenance work.

For GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  • You will analyze new ships’ configurations to anticipate required logistics support.
  • You will collect, research, identify, and provide logistics data to reflect current shipboard conditions.
  • You will assist design personnel, ship force personnel, planners and estimators with problems in connection with Integrated Logistics support (ILS) configuration and technical documentation.
  • You will collect, review, analyze and create various reports for use in evaluating, documenting and reporting various Integrated Logistics support (ILS) and effectiveness and condition of Fleet units.
  • You will assist higher graded logistics management specialists in providing complete functional configuration and logistics support to fleet units.
  • You will assist higher graded logistics management specialists in expediting critical material or configuration requirements and in coordinating alternate sources of supply.
  • You will prepare oral and written presentations to effectively explain and document assignment related problems and their solutions.
