Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting logistics for naval ship design and maintenance, including planning equipment upkeep, managing parts inventories, and handling procurement using specialized Navy systems.

It's a good fit for someone with entry-level experience in supply chain or maintenance planning who is detail-oriented and comfortable with technical documentation and software tools.

The role assists senior specialists in ensuring ships are properly equipped and configured during construction.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 in logistics or maintenance planning
  • Knowledge of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) development, including Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC) and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with Navy Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL), Allowance Parts List (APL), and National Stock Numbers (NSN)
  • Experience with requisitions, investigating stock issues, and using tools like Navy ERP, eMALL, OneTouch, and GPC for procurement
  • Understanding of configuration management for components, systems, and sub-systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
  • Ability to assist in ship design integration, technical reviews, micro-purchases, and database validations like CDMD-OA

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector possessing a working knowledge of maintenance planning in all aspects of logistics.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planned Maintenance System (PMS) development and the associated maintenance documentation; Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC), Technical Manuals and configuration management for components, systems or sub-systems.

2) Working knowledge of Navy Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) incremental products, Allowance Parts List (APL) and National Stock Numbers (NSN).

3) Working experience with requisitions and how to investigate problems such as stock number migration, source determination, and sources of substitute material.

4) Experience generating requisitions and MILSTRIPS supporting a wide range of equipment, services and commodities using Navy ERP, eMALL, OneTouch and GPC to support procurement.

5) Working knowledge of configuration management and hierarchical structuring of components, systems and sub-systems.

6) Expierence using Microsoft suite including Teams, Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.

  • You will assist Senior Logistics Management Specialists to ensure the integration of logistics elements into the ship design and construction process.
  • You will participate in in-process reviews of technical manuals to ensure the logistics makeup and functionality of equipment are adequately supported.
  • You will perform additional responsibilities such as generating and executing micro-purchases in accordance with guidance, assisting in BIN and material validations, and performing various functions in ERP systems.
  • You will ensure configuration data loaded in the Navy's Configuration Manager (CM) database of record, CDMD-OA.
