Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing the logistics for naval aircraft systems to keep them safe, ready for missions, and cost-effective for the Navy.

You'll handle planning, analysis, and support for maintenance and operations, acting as the main contact for technical issues.

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience may demonstrate the following:1) Developing program sustainment and acquisition integrated logistics support; 2) Applying advanced logistics management principles to support fleet operations and mission readiness; 3) Managing technical and professional services required to sustain a weapon system; and 4) Evaluating new approaches, guides and standards to make logistical decisions.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and readiness of assigned aircraft systems, while reducing total cost of ownership to the Navy.
  • You will serve as the technical and administrative point of contact for in-service logistics or acquisition logistics issues pertaining to the platform specific area(s) assigned.
  • You will develop, review, evaluate, and/or provide supportability inputs to program technical and mission documentation.
  • You will conduct and/or evaluate mission area analysis and assessment to develop Integrated Product Support (IPS) concepts and identify any constraints.
  • You will identify and/or determine logistics planning tasks, actions, projects and schedules required to implement or execute assigned IPS program responsibilities.
  • You will organize, plan, chair, and/or support a variety of logistics maintenance, program meetings, or program reviews.
  • You will perform Level of Repair Analysis (LORAs) and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTAs) to analyze required operations and maintenance tasks for the assigned system/equipment to identify logistic support resource requirement for each task.
  • You will investigate and evaluate existing, emerging, and new technologies, processes, and maintenance techniques and practices for application to the end design, support system design, and to preventive and corrective maintenance requirements.
  • You will develop/provide recommendations for improving the system design, the support system design, and logistics/maintenance policies/plans/processes.
