Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.
Customs and Border Protection, Office of USBP Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, Logistics Division, located in Washington, DC.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Coordinating logistics support across multiple functional areas including supply chain, maintenance, and training.
Advising senior officials on logistics policy, program direction, and regulatory compliance. Developing and implementing training strategies for personnel involved in logistics operations.
Developing and evaluating long and short-range logistics support plans and policies. Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors and other federal agencies.

This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10) .
In this Logistics Management Specialist position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in providing guidance, coordination, management, and planning for acquiring or procuring logistics and sustainment support for operational users across the CBP enterprise.
Typical work assignments include: Directing Complex logistics studies involving system life cycle product support management to provide analysis informing acquisition and sustainment planning.
Developing and recommending policy and procedures for CBP system life cycle product support management, representing the agency (and department) in forums, meetings, working groups, and briefings both internal and external to the agency.
Responsibilities will address all aspects of product life cycle support.
Overseeing the logistical planning, coordination, execution of systems acquisition, deployment, sustainment, and decommissioning for projects.
Evaluating current business management processes and procedures and recommending appropriate actions for use in the execution of the acquisition program.
