Summary

This job involves acting as a key advisor and planner for managing the supply, distribution, and quality of bulk petroleum in military operations, especially in Australia, by evaluating plans, resolving issues, and recommending improvements to infrastructure and logistics.

See below for important information regarding this job. To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Advising higher leadership of concerns, solutions, and revisions made in regard to logistics and program performance.

Evaluation of operations plans to determine areas of improvement. Coordinate and conduct quantitative and qualitative studies and analysis related to bulk petroleum requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Liaison Officer (LNO) and operational planner, advising on bulk petroleum support matters affecting operations, planning, financial analysis, and intelligence collection in Australia.
  • Evaluates and advises on strategic posturing and infrastructure matters.
  • Advises component activities on various DLA Energy procedures regarding end-to-end bulk petroleum supply chain management.
  • Works with DLA Energy Pacific Quality Manager to address fuel quality issues throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Develops short- and long-range plans and programs for distribution and transportation of bulk petroleum.
  • Resolves operations plan shortfalls, limitations and other conditions that impact DLA Energy's ability to perform its bulk petroleum logistics support mission.
  • Assesses facilities for operational effectiveness, identifying facility and/or equipment constraints, and recommends viable solutions.
