Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage supply chains for naval aircraft systems, ensuring parts are available, risks are minimized, and inventories are handled efficiently from design to delivery.

It focuses on coordinating with teams, running meetings on obsolescence issues, and overseeing property and contractor work.

A good fit would be someone with experience in logistics or supply management, especially in defense or government settings, who is organized and good at leading others.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in supply support management, inventory, warehousing, and personnel skills
  • Familiarity with Navy supply practices, source selection, budget development and execution, and aircraft modification/kitting
  • Experience with interim support spares storage, issuance, and warehouse management for effective supply chain programs
  • Ability to plan, integrate, and phase efforts to resolve risks and minimize impacts on retail spares throughout item life cycles
  • Skills in mitigating supply chain risks, monitoring program accuracy, and leading teams in DMSMS management meetings
  • Proficiency in directing personnel, managing inventories, contractors, and property clean-up processes
  • Capability to lead inventory modeling contracts, update trackers, and coordinate with integrated product teams (IPTs)

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Air Systems Group, Supply Chain Management (SCM) Division, Supply Chain Management Branch (AB33100) supporting PMA231 Supply Support Team of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) demonstrating an understanding of Supply Support management functions, material inventory and warehousing as well as program practices and personnel management skills; 2) working familiarity with Navy Supply Support practices, source selection processes, Funding Requirements to include budget development and execution, aircraft modification and kitting management requirements; 3) working experience with interim support period spares storage and issuance requirements, and warehouse management processes for implementing and maintaining an effective Supply Chain Management and proactive management program; 4) ensuring effective and efficient planning, integration, and phasing of all efforts to implement resolutions, to minimize or eliminate risks and negative impacts to retail spares throughout the life cycle of Items.

  • You will serve as the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team Lead, responsible to the PMA231 Product Support Manager (PSM) for assisting in the establishment and management of Supply Chain Management functions.
  • You will mitigate risks to the Program’s Supply Chain for systems/equipment and develop, monitor and evaluate the technical accuracy of the supply chain program for products/systems from concept/exploration through final delivery.
  • You will run monthly DMSMS Management Team (DMT) meetings with OEM, PMA leadership, PMA’s respective IPTs and FMS teams.
  • You will lead internal pre-Working Group meeting with SCM and DMSMS team(s) to ensure alignment on all DMSMS efforts and clarify any questions ahead of DMT meeting.
  • You will direct work of assigned personnel to manage DMT slide deck changes and updates prior to Working Groups and formal DMT meeting to include updates from all stakeholders.
  • You will reach out to respective IPTs for determining paths forward on all new obsolescence cases, as well as confirm appropriate sustainment quantities to support fleet as well as updating DMT tracker.
  • You will provide guidance and direction to Support Property Management team and Deputy Accountable Property Officer (DAPO) with clean-up of Patuxent River properties. Assist in managing contractors and inventories.
  • You will lead Inventory Modeling contract effort related tasks to include managing and updating prioritized list of parts to model as well as reviewing and accepting all contractor’s deliverables via Project Coordination Memo acceptance process.
