Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the FMS SUSTAINMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND HQ-OSF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating competence in advanced theory, concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management; 2) Understanding of Life Cycle Logistics Management System, the system/equipment life-cycle phases and the documentation, analyses, and reviews associated with those phases; 3) Understanding of DOD budget processes; administrative relationships within the Navy and DOD; and administrative relationships with the Systems Command and field activities; 4) Preparing rational and logical oral and written presentations to any or all levels of Government and industry management.

  • You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications.
  • You will perform cost analysis and life cycle costing studies for assigned systems.
  • You will develop and approves logistic/maintenance requirements analyses; documentation requirements for RFPs/RFQs and other contractual documents based on input from logistic element managers.
  • You will review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), assesses the impact of changes to ILS, and recommends approval/disapproval based on trade-off analyses between improved performance/supportability and additional costs.
