Summary

This job involves managing the logistics of selling military equipment, training, and services to foreign countries through the U.S.

Army's security assistance programs, from initial planning to final completion.

About the Position: This position serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing letters of offer and acceptance for pricing, logistics and services in support of country procurement plans; identifying security assistance issues to assist with providing corrective action; monitoring operating procedures and systems to ensure compliance with established policy and regulations; and preparing briefings on the execution of assigned programs.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Work in conjunction with the primary point of contact for assigned countries, programs, and organizations for the purchase, transfer and/or lease of defense articles, training, and services.
  • Manage the foreign military sales (FMS) program for assigned country from case implementation through case closure.
  • Work in conjunction with the primary point of contact and command representative with complete responsibility for developing, coordinating, and managing Security Assistance (SA) programs.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues surfaced by the security assistance enterprise community.
  • Responsible for all logistical aspects (for example: receipt, review, documents, waivers, notification, taskings, processing, etc.) of Security Assistance program management.
  • Resolve logistical, financial, and/or operational actions as related to case management.
  • Maintain liaison with foreign government representatives and key personnel within the Security Assistance Enterprise.
  • Prepare briefings, trip books, read-ahead, issue papers, action items, informational papers/memorandums, and other documents for leadership.
  • Present briefings locally, to higher headquarters levels, and/or to foreign dignitaries on case management actions for assigned country cases.
