Summary

This job involves planning and managing the long-term support for naval surface ships, ensuring they remain operational, affordable, and meet military needs through strategies like sustainment plans and budgeting.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent, including developing Life Cycle Sustainment Plans and adjusting support elements for affordability and suitability
  • Experience as Product Support Manager (PSM) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) Manager

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization, and Sustainment Directorate of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, supportability milestones, acquisition activities and adjusting Integrated Product Support Elements to balance program with Warfighter requirements for suitability and affordability.

  • You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in SEA21 and executes duties as both Product Support Manager (PSM) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) Manager.
  • You will develop and maintain the Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LSCP), supportability milestones, acquisition activities and adjusts IPS Elements to balance program with Warfighter requirements for suitability and affordability.
  • You will ensure systems product support strategy are incorporated into acquisition documentation, procurement specifications, contracts, and engineering documents.
  • You will participate in the development of budgetary requirements to include annual and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submissions and manage the allocation of all budgeted funds to assure supportability.
  • You will prepare integrated logistics requirement plans, operations and maintenance, and interim support plans ensuring that logistics management operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets Fleet requirements, as required.
  • You will review program documentation and system equipment design for integrated logistics considerations.
  • You will develop life cycle support plan, as required and prepare cost and funding summaries and milestone information.
  • You will direct development of detailed analyses of Navy Modernization Program planning and execution documents and databases.
  • You will communicate with internal and external organization management and leadership on issues related to ILS requirements and impacts that support, lifecycle, schedules, and products.
  • You will participate in management meetings as authoritative representative of the assigned programs within area of responsibility.
