Are You Ready to Make a Difference? Join Us at DOSH!
L&l's Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) administers the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act ( WISHA) law by developing and enforcing rules that protect workers from hazardous job conditions and supporting employers in building safe workplaces.
DOSH is seeking a highly organized, adaptable, and collaborative Program Specialist to lead the Fire-Resistant Material Applicator (FRMA) Certification Program.
Created through HB1323, adopted as Chapter 145 (Download PDF reader) and supported by WAC rules and DOSH Directives, this program has significant statewide impact.
All Washington businesses and individuals engaged in the installation of fire-resistant coatings fall under its scope.
This program is early in its development and still taking shape.
Some processes will need to be built from the ground up, and others will change as application volume increases, systems are refined, and requirements evolve.
There will be times when expectations shift and priorities need to be reset.
This role requires someone who is comfortable with that level of uncertainty, someone who can create structure, stay organized amid moving parts, and help others navigate change. If you prefer a role with established routines, stable processes, and minimal ambiguity, this may feel challenging.
This is your chance to be at the forefront of safety innovation, ensuring that our communities are protected with the highest standards of fire-resistant materials!
