Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of security assistants in managing access to a Navy base in California, including issuing passes, maintaining records, and ensuring everyone follows security rules.

It's a supervisory role where you'll assign tasks, check work quality, and handle office tasks using computers.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a LEAD SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION (N34) of NAVBASE CORONADO SEC DET.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of security administration concepts, principles, and practices performing independent assignments such as reviewing request for personnel base access.

Experience applying fact-finding and investigative techniques (e.g.

employee reviews, review of work procedures, instructions and files) to gather clear-cut factual evidence of administrative compliance with regulations.

Experience applying knowledge of the office procedures, filing systems and various references and handbooks commonly used by the staff in order to classify, search for, and dispose of materials.

Experience applying knowledge of the capabilities, operating characteristics, and advanced functions of a variety of types of office automation software. A qualified typist is required.

Experience communicating, both orally and in writing, to coordinate security requirements, provide advice or assist upper management relative to security requirements.

  • You will distribute, articulate and communicate the team's assignments and scheduling of on-going work on a long-term basis to include projects, problems to be solved, and deadlines within job specialization.
  • You will lead work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work assigned to subordinate.
  • You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, and check and review completed work based on work priorities, methods and deadlines to ensure quality has been met.
  • You will maintain files and records that relate to work of the PASSandID, set up and maintain logs showing the status of actions and correspondence, ensure that files include all required documents and that all documents are properly signed.
  • You will issue temporary passes to ensure authorized vehicles/personnel have proper documentation to allow Installation access.
