Full Job Description

You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience preparing threat assessments for personnel and assets which have anti-terrorism responsibilities; *Experience updating plans, manuals, and instructions to provide recommendations regarding changes to security specifications; *Experience conducting inspections of mission essential vulnerable assets, arms, ammunition, explosive storage facilities and critical infrastructure; *Experience conducting classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs; *Experience serving as a Loss Prevention Technical Specialist/Security Advisor for the installation during meetings.

  • You will assess the threat levels at facilities throughout the Command's Regions to implement immediate security countermeasures.
  • You will conduct vulnerability assessments to confirm sufficient protection (i.e. property, information, material) for the organization.
  • You will conduct physical security and crime prevention surveys as directed by managers and senior staff.
  • You will create and conduct personnel security training for all department personnel.
  • You will serve as the Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) with responsibility for development, implementation, management, execution, and oversight of all elements of the AT program for Naval Base Point Loma.
  • You will manage programs pertaining to Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Physical Security.
  • You will conduct and analyze vulnerability, criticality and risk assessments to identify security risks.
  • You will analyze and identify security educational needs of the workforce and weaknesses in the security program to provide solutions.
  • You will conduct physical security and crime prevention surveys as directed by managers and senior staff.
  • You will create and conduct personnel security training for all department personnel.
  • You will create and conduct briefings for the Senior Leaders and the Antiterrorism Executive Committee.
