About the Position: This position is assigned to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (DASD (MC&FP), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).

This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading enterprise-wide projects that integrate innovative data-driven solutions, developing and/or implementing data transformation plans, overseeing the management of programs and/or policies relevant to data and AI to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, providing expert advice to senior management and leadership on all information and data challenges, and leading employees in the performance of work objectives set by the supervisor.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).

Major Duties:

  • Establish and maintain the organization’s enterprise-wide data strategy and governance.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement comprehensive data transformation plans.
  • Lead with a customer-centric approach, understanding the needs of service members and their families to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions.
  • Manage all types of data and knowledge throughout the organization, guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and report on the status and progress of all program operations and activities.
  • Lead employees to achieve work objectives set by the supervisor.
  • Assign work based on expertise and workload, and monitors team performance.
