Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in the U.S. Navy's Data Fusion Center in Hawaii, focusing on IT security and system administration for maritime operations and command systems.

You'll evaluate security methods to fix major issues, develop new techniques, and ensure systems stay secure and reliable while guiding your team on projects and training.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in evaluating IT security principles, methods, and tools for agency-wide systems
  • Experience in developing new approaches and techniques for Maritime Operations Center (MOC) and Fleet Command and Control (C2) systems
  • Strong skills in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving
  • Ability to lead and coach a team, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing training on team building and problem-solving methods
  • Knowledge of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of C2 and Maritime Common Operational Picture (COP) systems, networks, and data
  • Familiarity with multi-tactical Data Link interoperability requirements and assisting roles like JDN Integrator (JDNI) and Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO)

Full Job Description

You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the DATA FUSION CENTER of MARITIME OPERATIONS CENTER.

A post allowance amount, (otherwise known as: COLA), of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. Post allowance is subject to change at any time.

For additional information, please refer to the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Chapter 5 Part B.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating IT security principles, methods, and tools to resolve critical problems in agency-wide systems and development of new approaches and techniques for the use by others on Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Theater and Fleet Command and Control (C2) systems.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • You will perform work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of C2 and Maritime Common Operational Picture (COP) systems, networks and data.
