The Opportunity
WSDOT is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support the North Central Region (NCR) maintenance asset management systems, including the Highway Activities Tracking System (HATS) and Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL), IPads, which are critical to tracking daily highway maintenance operations and ensuring reliable service delivery across the region.
This position will provide technical support for mobile, web, and vehicle-mounted technologies by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, mobile devices, and truck-mounted IT systems; assist users; and coordinate with Headquarters (HQ) to ensure consistent system performance in a 24/7 operational environment.
A strong candidate will possess foundational systems administration knowledge, customer-focused technical support skills, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to communicate effectively while supporting diverse users and field operations.
What to Expect
The WSDOT HQ Maintenance Division is responsible for $655 million budget and operation and maintenance of over 20,000 lane miles of roadway, 3500 bridges and structures, as well as over 800,000 individual features such as roadway and Stormwater systems, drainage, traffic barriers and roadside vegetation.
The Maintenance Operations Technology Group operates within the HQ Maintenance Operations Branch and is responsible for the development, maintenance, training and implementation of technology within the Maintenance Division.
This position supports the NCR and assists HQ with supporting South Central (SCR) and Eastern Regions (ER).
