Job Title: IT System Administration (Senior/Specialist)Location: Thurston County – Olympia, Washington (This is a Hybrid position)Closes: April 27th, 2026Salary: $92,760.00 - $124,752.00 Annually The Opportunity:This position is responsible for the agency-wide configuration, implementation, maintenance, and support of applications and services within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power BI.

This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of platform services while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business goals.

It requires strong technical expertise, strategic problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide stakeholders and junior team members in best practices to enhance operational efficiency and support digital transformation.


Some of what you will get to do:

  • Configure, administer and maintain scalable solutions using Microsoft Power Platform environments to address business needs.
  • Monitor and improve performance, reliability, and scalability of Power Platform solutions.
  • Provide support for existing solutions and troubleshooting issues related to Power Apps, Power Pages, Power BI, Dataverse and Power Automate.
  • Manage environment settings, environment variables, and audit logs.
  • Oversee Dataverse configuration, storage allocation, database maintenance, and data policies.
  • Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across environments.
  • Implement and manage the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) toolkit.
  • Develop governance frameworks for solution design, development standards, and platform usage.
  • Create governance dashboards and reports for leadership.
  • Provide practical/relevant ideas and perspectives on process and practice improvements.
  • Provide support for Power Apps, Power Pages, Power BI, Dataverse and Power Automate
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows using Power Apps, Power Pages, Power BI, Dataverse and Power Automate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Manage security roles, security profiles, teams, users, business units, permissions, and data access.
  • Coordinate with InfoSec and compliance teams to manage exceptions, risks, and approvals.
  • Maintain documentation required for audits, security reviews, and regulatory reporting.


Required Qualifications:

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling ten (10) years of progressive professional IT Experience.


OR

  • An associate’s degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND eight (8) years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or administrating or supervising staff that performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.


OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely allied field AND six (6) years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; or administrating or supervising staff that performed work in any of these information technology disciplines.


AND

  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.


Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Pages, Power BI, Dataverse and Power Automate).
  • Five (5) years' experience with Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, and Azure integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Power Platform administration, environments, connectors, and security roles.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and general Microsoft 365 administration


In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following:

  • Experience with Dynamics 365, Common Data Service, or Azure Logic Apps.
  • Knowledge of governance and administration in enterprise Power Platform deployments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and embedded reporting.
  • Understanding of licensing, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and security models.
