You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST(PLCYPLN/INFOSEC) in the Information Technology Department of NAVOCEANASWECEN. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Please see Additional Information section below. *** This position is only open to current permanent employees of BSO NV60 within the commuting area of the duty location listed for this position.

One year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Conducting IT budget and IT portfolio management planning. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Providing policy guidance to IT personnel, staff, and supported commands. 3.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Communicating assigned work to subordinate staff, and answering questions regarding directives, policies, and procedures. 4.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include Identifying and resolving planning and management issues such as recruitment, retention, and training.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing Cybersecurity policies, conducting information security evaluations and audits; AND performing IT lifecycle management.

  • You will perform a full range of supervisory responsibilities for subordinate staff consisting of IT Specialist an active-duty military enlisted technicians.
  • You will provide direct supervision and professional development opportunities for subordinate personnel; planning directing and administering the work.
  • You will assess policy needs, develop and implement policies to govern IT and Cybersecurity activities within the command.
  • You will provide policy guidance to IT personnel, staff, and supported commands.
  • You will prepare reports using Microsoft Office products, documenting results of analysis to include recommendations for further action and/or corrective actions.
  • You will provide technical leadership on the identification, testing, evaluation and approval of security tool standards for the IT Department.
