Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing environmental compliance programs for the U.S.

Navy's fleet operations in Europe, including overseeing projects, conducting inspections, and ensuring activities meet environmental standards while supporting military readiness.

A good fit would be someone with experience in environmental management, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work internationally in a military or government setting.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Global Force Management and Readiness Division of COMUSNAVEUR-COMSIXTHFLEET SEA, Capodichino, Italy Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing environmental programs which includes resolving technical problems, performing site inspections, planning objectives, analyzing samples, and providing direction to ensure environmental compliance.

  • You will serve as the Environmental Compliance Program Manager responsible for oversight, direction, management, and coordination of CNE/CNA environmental compliance processes.
  • You will be responsible for special environmental management projects in support of maritime operations, activities and investments (OAIs) and at-sea readiness.
  • You will set guidelines, and directs, reviews and monitors environmental studies and findings for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
  • You will prepare environmental compliance directives, procedural guides, manuals, and other guidelines for implementation.
  • You will plan, manage, assesses risk, and implement CNE/CNA environmental protection measures and mitigations for Fleet military readiness activities.
  • You will provide expert advice in coordination with foreign navies, foreign governments, and international organizations.
  • You will develop environmental protection program goals and prepares action plans to accomplish these goals.
