This job is for a supervisor in a Navy welding shop who oversees teams repairing and building metal parts for submarines at a facility in Georgia.
It involves planning work schedules, directing welders and helpers, ensuring safety, and managing performance to keep operations running smoothly and on time.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on welding experience who enjoys leading a team in a technical, high-stakes environment like military maintenance.
You will serve as a WELDER SUPERVISOR in the Welder Shop (26A), Hull Facility Division (TRF 310), Repair Department (TRF 300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIFEFFAC), Kings Bay, Georgia of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Experience planning, directing, and managing the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, and welding of various metal structural parts of submarines.
Experience planning weekly work schedules, establishing deadlines, and priorities based on requirements established by higher authorities, and determining assignments that can be accomplished concurrently or delayed, as well as the number of employees required, the availability of materials, and the equipment that is required.
Experience providing technical directions to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of shop operations and reviewing work while in progress to ensure that the work is completed accurately and timely with minimum cost.
Experience setting performance expected of subordinates, making formal appraisals of their work performance, and determining training needs.
Experience initiating disciplinary actions as needed and adjudicating informal complaints and grievances through discussions with employees and union representatives. ???????
