Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves helping keep computer systems secure for a Navy missile testing facility in Hawaii by monitoring risks, fixing cybersecurity problems, and training users on security practices.
It's a good fit for someone with a couple of years of IT security experience who enjoys problem-solving and working in a team to protect sensitive military information.
The role requires attention to detail and good communication skills to support system managers and ensure everything runs smoothly without security breaches.
You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Range Systems Department of PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY.
Note: This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Systems Security Analyst, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
GS-11 Grade level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: executing and monitoring Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities; and/or providing assistance to Cybersecurity Officers (CSOs) in executing and monitoring a cybersecurity program; and/or the planning and implementation of IS security programs; managing security mechanisms to protect against threats, identifying and measuring risks; and/or providing technical review for network security efforts.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
GS-09 Grade level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing assistance to Cybersecurity Officers (CSOs) in executing and/or monitoring cybersecurity programs; and/or ensuring Information Systems comply with policies; helping plan and implement security programs; and/or maintaining system accreditation; and/or supporting the identification of vulnerabilities; and/or providing technical review for network security efforts.
