Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

You will serve as an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (POLICY PLANNING) in the OFFICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY PRINCIPAL CYBER ADVISOR.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the four competencies listed above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the stated grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as listed below.
GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reporting to leadership on strategic and technical matters.
Experience analyzing the policy and risk implications and reporting actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Experience developing policy.
GS-12: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience advising leadership on a wide range of cyber-related issues.
Experience analyzing the policy and risk implications of cyberspace security, resilience, or cyber operations and reporting actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
Experience providing in-depth analysis and evaluation for impact on strategy and/or operations.
This includes interpreting federal guidance and legislation to support the development of implementation plans and ensure organizational alignment.
Experience contributing to efforts to improve the overall cyber posture through policy refinement and strategic initiatives.
