Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-0132-12, Intelligence Research Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, D8 INTELLIGENCE BRANCH -DRI in NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana.

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Performing analysis and production tasks related to assigned area(s) in political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical or military conditions for one or more foreign countries.

Planning, implementing and maintaining databases required to process all-source material to produce intelligence.

Identifying intelligence gaps, proposing collection requirements to fill gaps, and developing analytical tools and methodologies to cope with the gaps.

Liaising with external stakeholders to appropriately address their requests for information and ensure that their requirements are met.

Operates as the Collection Manager (CM) and Collection Requirements Manager (CRM) for all intelligence driven operations, to include ISR missions and Field and Maritime Intelligence Collection Missions.

You will serve as a/an Intelligence Research Specialist and be responsible for managing an all-source, tactical level intelligence collection and reporting program.

You will perform tactical maritime intelligence collection, analysis and production tasks primarily in support of fisheries law enforcement in the Gulf of Mexico.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Responsible for managing all-source tactical level intelligence collection and reporting program.

Collects, reviews, interprets, evaluates and integrates data from multiple sources for preparing assessments, collection planning, to include ISR missions, or other intelligence products.

Processing and managing Request for Information (RFI's), collection plans, tasks, and products.

Using available tools to provide metrics on a variety of measures related to production processing and product development and delivery and disseminates them to the requestor.

Perform liaison functions with the US Intelligence Community, Law Enforcement agencies, CG members and maritime partners
