Summary

This job involves leading a team that reviews and analyzes intelligence information to help immigration officials check if benefit applicants are safe and not a security risk to the country.

As an Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will analyze and evaluate large volumes of intelligence materials to assist adjudicators in ensuring applicants for immigration benefits are properly vetted and benefits are not granted to individuals who pose a threat to our Nation's security.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/20/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 01/20/2026.

GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Administering program direction, resource allocation, and program oversight for the unit.

Directing intelligence programs that have a wide range of diversified and complex functions.

Overseeing the development of intelligence data, estimates, statistics, suggestions, and other information useful to higher level managers.

Researching and analyzing all source information and intelligence; synthesize information and raw intelligence reporting.

Representing on a wide variety of inter- or intra-agency task forces, committees and working groups that address issues of critical interest; and brief senior leadership.

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate, EB5 and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • Responsible for performing administrative and human resource management and management functions.
  • Plan, develop and support information sharing efforts with law enforcement and intelligence community elements.
  • Coordinate intelligence operations and maintain liaison with other government agencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication and information sharing processes across the Directorate and Agency.
  • Evaluate large volumes of sensitive information to identify trends and analyze their impact.
