GSSM seeks an exceptional engineering instructor to teach advanced high school students in our residential program and outreach initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a 10-month academic appointment beginning fall 2026, with benefits provided through the State of South Carolina.
Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with credentials, experience, and unique capabilities.
Faculty hired in this position will teach in GSSM's Residential Programs, delivering STEM-focused courses to highly motivated 11th and 12th grade residential students at the Hartsville, SC campus. This position requires relocation to South Carolina and is based at the Hartsville campus.
The successful candidate will teach engineering and drone technology courses at a level comparable to undergraduate college courses, modeled on college-like schedules and teaching environments.
This position emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning and offers opportunities to develop new courses and projects that align with the instructor's expertise.
Responsibilities of the Instructor of Engineering
Set and maintain appropriate class and/or lab and instruction schedules Explore, develop, and, when appropriate, implement innovative methodology for successful instruction.
Work with the Department Chair and/or the VP for Academics in developing, setting, and sharing successful instructional methods.
