GSSM seeks an exceptional economics instructor to teach advanced high school students in our residential program and outreach initiatives.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a 10-month academic appointment beginning fall 2026, with benefits provided through the State of South Carolina.

Faculty hired in this position will teach courses to highly motivated 11th and 12th grade residential students at the Hartsville, SC campus. This position requires relocation to South Carolina and is based at the Hartsville campus.
The economics instructor is responsible for developing, instructing, and supervising students at the Governor's School for Science and Mathematics to demonstrate improved competency in the teacher's area of expertise and assignment.
In partnership with the Department Chair and others, instructors are charged with evaluating, recommending, and implementing plans for effective curriculum delivery.
Responsibilities of the Instructor of Economics
Set and maintain appropriate class and/or lab and instruction schedules. Explore, develop, and, when appropriate, implement innovative methodology for successful instruction.
Work with the Department Chair and/or the VP for Academics in developing, setting, and sharing successful instructional methods.
