Summary
This job involves handling complaints from inmates in a prison, investigating issues by talking to inmates and staff, and recommending fair solutions based on rules and policies.

Full Job Description
Under limited supervision from the Warden, Chief of Inmate Grievance Branch, and Central Office Inmate Grievance Administrators,
- Performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the inmate grievance branch.
- Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff.
- Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level.
- Reviews and research SCDC policies, relevant/mandated statutes, disciplinary tapes, and any documentation related to grievances.
- Interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to day-to-day operations and to the grievance procedures.
- Accepts and forwards appeals to central office.
- Serves inmates with Step 1 and Step 2 grievance decisions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
