Summary
This job involves handling complaints from inmates in a prison setting by investigating issues, interviewing people involved, and recommending solutions to resolve problems fairly and quickly.

Full Job Description
- Under limited supervision from the Warden, Chief of Inmate Grievance Branch, and central office inmate grievance administrators, performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the Inmate Grievance Branch.
- Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff.
- Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level.
- Reviews and researches SCDC policies, relevant/mandated statues, disciplinary tapes, and any documentation related to grievances.
- Interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as they apply to day-to-day operations and to the grievance procedures, accepts and forwards appeals to the central office, serves inmates with step 1 and step 2 grievance decisions and performs other duties as assigned.

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four (4) years of responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting.
