Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves analyzing and improving IT systems, especially commercial software used by the Navy, to support customers and solve technical problems.
You'll conduct studies on how these systems work, gather user needs, and recommend changes to make things more efficient.
It's a good fit for someone with IT experience who enjoys troubleshooting, communicating with users, and working in a structured government environment like a naval base.
You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis) in the Information Technology & Cyber Security Department (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing system analysis or feasibility studies of Information Technology (IT) computer applications and processing issues as it relates to customer support requirements of commercial off the shelf (COTS) applications.
In addition, your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: delivering customer support services and possesses the fundamental knowledge to participate in system analysis or feasibility studies of Information Technology (IT) computer applications and processing issues as it relates to customer support requirements of commercial off the shelf (COTS) applications.
In addition, your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Applies systems analysis methods, tools, and techniques to evaluate established methods and procedures and prepare recommendations for changes in methods and practices where appropriate.

3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presents or briefs customers on computer technology practices and processes that will improve efficiency and effectiveness.
4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
