This entry-level job involves supporting a team that manages Windows servers and basic cloud systems for a naval intelligence communications center, including tasks like installing software, applying updates, and troubleshooting simple issues under supervision.

You will serve as serves as Junior Windows System Administrator within the Hopper Global Communications Center, performing at the entry/developmental capacity, providing basic support to the Windows server administration team, including beginning exposure to cloud technologies.
This position is located in the HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GG-07 I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1. Provide basic support to the Windows server administration team, including Microsoft Azure cloud technologies; 2.
Assist with server and workstation installations, configurations, patching, and basic performance monitoring; 3.
Gain practical experience by following established procedures, troubleshooting common issues under supervision, and contributing to routine maintenance tasks; 4.
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers and workstations, both physical and virtual; 5. Support the application of software patches and updates; and 6.
Learn and assist with troubleshooting basic system issues and alerts from monitoring tools, escalating complex problems to senior team members.

Participate with higher-grade specialists to install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations (physical and virtual) adhering to established security guidelines; 2.
Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems as needed; 3. Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including backups, patching, and security updates; 4.
Participate in managing user accounts and access controls within Active Directory and Group Policy; 5. Develop and utilize basic scripting solutions (e.g., PowerShell) to automate routine tasks; and 6.
Contributes to the maintenance of system documentation. OR 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education OR Masters or equivalent graduate degree OR L.B. or J.D.
