The primary purpose of this position is to maintain situational awareness and initiate actions for the non-secure internet protocol router network (NIPR Net) and the secure internet protocol router network (SIPR Net) to improve or restore the information assurance (IA) posture as well as conducting annual security reviews of IA controls and a test of selected IA controls.

Examples of specialized experience includes: Assessing an organization's IT compliance requirements by applying a wide range of IT principles, concepts, methods, and policies across hardware and software applications; conducting feasibility studies, performing cost-benefit analysis, and developing investment plans to recommend optimal courses of action and suitable alternatives; governing the planning and delivery of network, information assurance, and security services through the practical application of established policies, procedures, and strategies; and executing advanced network security projects and leading task forces to resolve critical infrastructure protection problems that require innovative solutions with widespread impact.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, methods, advancements, policies, design, development, testing and applications, both hardware and software sufficient to assess the organization's IT compliancy requirements.

Expert knowledge of customers' business processes and operations to assist them with information technology insertion and integration.

Comprehensive knowledge of the organization's policy and planning formulation process along with its missions, goals, and objectives to review IT polices and plans.

Comprehensive knowledge of systems architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods sufficient to conduct feasibility studies.

Expert ability to identify any area, program or equipment/system that is not compliant with standards; identify the observations, root cause, and/or possible solutions; analyze to determine if there are trends and provide a comprehensive report to all levels of management.

Ability to perform feasibility studies, perform cost analysis review, develop investment plans, and recommend a best course of action along with suitable alternatives.

Ability to review and consult on IT related contracts and to serve as a technical representative on IT systems and service contracts.

Ability to stay well informed on rapidly changing technology, to evaluate its possible impact on organization missions, and to develop plans to satisfy public IAW, DoD/AF policy and guidance or technical orders.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Serves as Scott AFB's level IT security Assessment and Authorization program manager and technical subject matter expert on the non-secure internet protocol router network (NIPR Net) and the secure internet protocol router network (SIPR Net).

Ensures all changes are approved through a configuration management process and are assessed for cybersecurity impacts.

Analyzes complex processes and a variety of unusual problems, questions, or conditions relative to the design and/or selection of management information systems and applications software technology.
